Task Force on Women in Pediatrics
Susan G. Marshall (University of Washington) took over as Chair of the Task Force and led the meeting in Boston, MA, following the annual AAMC Meeting. The group, consisting of ten participants, reviewed the work of the Task Force in the last three years under Bonnie Stanton’s leadership. During that time Task Force focused on part time/flexible work and training and child care.
The future focus for the Task Force will include the following priority areas in academic and community practice settings:
- Pipeline, workforce, attrition, and retention of junior faculty Flexible/part time training
- Mentoring and leadership – This group plans to assemble references, presentations, and a list of leadership skills training opportunities and keep an updated list of these online resources in collaboration with the Leadership Academy Working Group.
- Transparency for promotion, paths for advancement, salary, incentives, and resources.
