Positioning Pediatricians in Leadership Positions Working Group
Carol Berkowitz and Renee Jenkins co-chair this Working Group. Members of the working group are targeting the following organizations for positioning pediatricians in leadership positions:
Carol Berkowitz - Quality (NICHQ, AQA, AHRQ) plus ACGME and the AMA Danielle Laraque - NIMH Renee Jenkins - NICHD (with Danielle Laraque and Ted Sectish) Kathe Nelson - IOM and AAMC In addition to understanding how to ensure that pediatricians can be selected for leadership positions, the group proactively joined forces with FOPO leadership in the effort to offer names for the Search Committee for position of Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development after Duane Alexander stepped down in September 2009. FOPO submitted a letter to Francis Collins with five names proposed.
